delight

my friend shanel asked me to do a painting of a verse for her baby girl’s adorable nursery.  we’re very close friends, so i was hesitant at first, but i love a challenge and she trusts me (yikes), so i accepted.  first, here’s a picture of the nursery i ripped off of facebook.

next, here are two pictures of the finished painting.  hoping the white isn’t too stark against the lavender walls.  i sprayed it with glitter when i was done…don’t know how well you can see that in the photos…

i had alot of fun doing this painting, so if anyone wants to commission another one, bring it on!

i don’t do weddings very often.  i was so thankful to get to do this one.  because it was so small and so simple, i felt like every little thing was special (not that big weddings aren’t, but you know what i mean).  this is the most images i’ve ever posted at once, but i had a hard time narrowing it down.

my talented friend kathleen just gave her photography business a facelift.  she’s got a new name, new website, and a new logo.  she came over one friday night a few weeks ago and we spent some time figureing out what what she wanted her new look to be (font, colors, elements, etc.).  here’s what we came up with:

(each “logo” will be used for a different purpose…website homepage, business cards, corner photo logo)

i have a ton more editing to do for this wedding, but i’m bursting at the seams to share at least a few shots…  these guys are the couple i did the painting for early last week.  we are kind of just getting to know each other, but their sunrise wedding was one of the coolest i’ve ever been to.  i felt so privileged to be there.  it was so intimate, but powerful at the same time.  here are a few that i liked…i’ll post more in a few days when i’m done with the editing.

this first shot was totally not set-up.  i sent them to the end of the walkway and hadn’t given them any more direction yet and they were just down there having a moment.  so so precious.

#16 was the walkway where everything went down.  also the place where paul proposed.

special thanks to my friend/photography genius kat braman for lending me one of her lenses.  nice equipment makes all the difference and, well, i don’t have alot of it yet.

more from this wedding to come…stay tuned.

it felt good to paint again.  the text didn’t turn out like i’d hoped, but otherwise i liked it.  i did this a few days ago for a friend of mine getting married tomorrow (will post images from that wedding in a few days).  turns out they’re having the reference engraved on their rings.  cool.
