BFR 2010: part 1

our family’s annual week at a sweet beach house in sebastian is at it’s mid-point.  here are some of my favorite images from the first half of the week.

morning one, hour one (approximately 7:15 AM).

lots of fun, impromptu, creative playing going on.  my nephew built this tower and he was SO proud of it…wouldn’t let me walk away until i took like 6 pictures of it.

had a mini-session with my sister’s little family.  hopefully be posting more later, but this was one of my favorite images from that.

my favorite photos of the week

harper: my little girl is seeming less and less “little” these days.  she looked so grown up with these braids in.

layne and her favorite necklace.  it is seriously a miracle that that thing hasn’t broken yet.

happy new year!!

my 2 favorite “abstract” shots from our 10 days away…

i think this was a caroler or something…the colors remind more of vegas than Christmas, but i like it anyway.

this is my nephew…very excited about our new year’s eve fireworks show in the driveway.  love him.

this is a shot ryan took after i went inside…lots of smoke in the trees…i love it!!

art

not sure what i love or why i love this picture, but i do.  i took like 15…plenty of her face, the brush, the bowls of paint…but this was my favorite.  it was my favorite on the camera playback and it’s still my favorite.  didn’t do a thing to it.  maybe i’m just a little partial to that tan little arm.

fun.

“normal” things are just more fun when you’re on vacation and have nothing else to do.  i made chicken enchiladas one night for everyone and i shredded the chicken (i usually just chop it because it’s faster).  it took me about 20 minutes and i honestly enjoyed every second.

dusk is my favorite time of day at the beach, and, as all photographers know, it is by far the best light of day for outdoor photography.  here are some shots i got while i was playing around a few nights last week…  (i haven’t edited any of these, fyi)

my fisherman husband pulling a hook out.

the house that we stay in has a deck down by the ocean.  everyone who stays there puts all the large/unique shells they find on the railing…they add up and it looks so cool!2009_07_08_1511 BLOG
